We caught up with Matt…
Q: Who or what influences your material?
My family and my long suffering girlfriend basically make up my whole set. None of them are particularly happy about it!
Q: How do you deal with hecklers?
Harsh and swift. Got to nip it in the bud. Unless they’re just over excited and joining in because they’re having a great time, then with kindness and I love it.
Q: Worst gig you’ve ever done?
There isn’t enough time to talk about how many bad gigs I’ve had. Someone throwing a pint glass at me in Edinburgh and it JUST missing my head is probably up there.
Q: Best aspect of touring the UK comedy circuit?
Seeing comedians you really like but haven’t seen in forever in green rooms. We pass like ships in the night so when you see them it’s a real treat.
Q: What was the last gift someone gave you?
My friend Clara came round for dinner and gave me two really nice bottles of red wine. It was lovely but made me miss the days my Friends came to my house to drink and they’d bring JägerMiester
Q: Who was the last comedian you watched perform?
Mat Ewins at the Fringe. He’s brilliant and utterly bonkers.
Q: How would you describe your job to a child?
I make people laugh by telling them embarrassing things that have happened to me.
Q: What would your pet say about you if we asked for a reference?
They’d say nothing – I don’t have any pets!
