• Gag House Comedy Superstars Returns

AWARD-WINNING stand-up comedian Aisling Bea is ready to make Guildford belly laugh as she headlines Gag House Comedy Superstars at G Live on Friday, November 17 at 8pm, joined on stage by phenomenal comedians Charlie Baker, Jarlath Regan and Phil Wang.

After the sell-out success of the Gag House Comedy Superstars debut in July, which also marked the official opening of Guildford Fringe Festival 2017, Gag House Comedy are thrilled to return to G Live this Autumn to present another incredible line-up of talented comics.

Since winning the prestigious comedy competition So You Think You’re Funny?  in 2012, Aisling Bea has become one of the most in-demand performers in UK and Irish comedy; a status cemented when she won the British Comedy Award for Best Female TV Comic in 2014.

In 2013 she was nominated for the Fosters Comedy Award for Best Newcomer for her debut Edinburgh show C’est La Bea which received a plethora of 4 and 5 star reviews during its sold out run.  Her second Edinburgh hour, 2015’s Plan Bea was also a major hit, selling out its entire run before the festival had even started.

As well as her live work, Aisling has quickly established herself as a regular face on television, with her credits including: 8 Out Of 10 Cats (team leader), QI, Russell Howard’s Good News, Live at the Apollo and The Jonathan Ross Show.

Joining Aisling and hosting the evening will be actor and comedian – not to mention, Let’s Dance for Comic Relief winner – Charlie Baker, bringing his incredible mix of jokes, song and dance to the stage in his instantly likeable, charming delivery style.  Charlie’s film and TV credits include: Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Richard Bacon’s Beer & Pizza Show, The IT Crowd, Eastenders and Harry Hill’s Tea Time.

Opening the Club will be award-winning comedian, writer and broadcaster Jarlath Regan who has gained a reputation with the industry and audiences for his uplifting, inventive and relentlessly funny stand-up.  His award-winning An Irishman Abroad podcast, where he interviews some of Ireland’s most famous exports, has won him universal acclaim and a global audience, and his first published book – How To Break Bad News – was an instant best-seller.  Jarlath’s credits include Tonight at the Palladium, Stand up Central and Russell Howard’s Good News.

Next to take to the stage is the internationally-acclaimed Phil Wang.  The last year has seen Phil appear on Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, Would I Lie to You?, Jack Dee’s Inauguration Helpdesk and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.  Phil also writes and stars in his own sketch series for Radio 4 with his Foster’s Newcomer Award nominated sketch trio, Daphne.  He has won the Chortle Student Comedian of the Year Award and Comedy Central’s Funniest Student Award.

With a spectacular line-up like this, the only place to Bea is in the audience.
